First of all we came up with a number of idea's of what to do to make our indent, we came up with around 3/4 idea's and worked out which would be the best. We agreed with the skittle idea - this was dropping our made number two into a tray of skittles so that they flyed everywhere, we thought this would give great effect as we were going to edit it and make it look in slow motion to make it come out better. Then we did our practice shots, we did this in the studio when it was free and seen what we could do to make our idea better. by doing this we relised how many bags of skittles we needed, we practiced these shots by rehearsing them about 3/4 times with different idea's such as dropping them in the tray and putting the skittles around the number two then taking it away, we all decided together which one we thought was best and continued testing the shoot. By doing this we knew then how heavy we needed the number two, because we were practicing with the model number two which was just a model that was helping us to know how big our number two had to be. We thought what would be the best way to make the number two, and what to make it out of.
Once we had decided all of this, we could then start to make our number two. We did this using cardboard foam that college provided for us, then we paper mashed it and painted it white, we decided to paint it white so that it stood out more in the skittles because there isn't a white skittle. We added about 6/7 layers of cardboard foam onto each other to make it look more 3D. We had to leave it to dry as we couldn't do anything until it was dry so two people came in on a friday and painted the rest of it so it was dry in time for wednesday when we was doing our final shoot. When the two people were making the number two, we documented them doing it and posted images and videos onto blogger to prove we made it and to help show how we made it. Making it didn't take to long and wasn't to difficult, it just took a few days as we had to wait for it to dry to keep putting more layers onto it. We all took it in turns to help cut out a number two to help stick onto each other. We used a small knife to help cut because scissors wouldn't cut through it.
Once we had made it, we filmed it how we wanted it to be, we had to do about 3 different ones to get it perfect and make the skittles fly out how we wanted them to, then we could now edit the indent. We decided it looked best slowed down and reversed, this gave it more effect and made it look different, it made the skittles stand out loads which is what the aim of our indent was.
Overall i am impressed with the outcome of our final indent because i like how we placed it together.
